Indapamide is a diuretic medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It belongs to the thiazide-like diuretic class and works by increasing the excretion of water and salt through the kidneys, which helps reduce blood volume and, consequently, blood pressure.

Indapamide is also used to reduce fluid retention associated with certain conditions, such as heart failure. It is well-tolerated and has an additional vasodilatory effect, making it effective in lowering blood pressure without significantly affecting kidney function.
